ECU Millennial Campus
East Carolina University (ECU) created the East Carolina Research and Innovation Campus to facilitate partnerships with private companies that foster economic growth in the region and create jobs. In North Carolina, the millennial campus model gives research universities greater flexibility to work with education, industry, government, military and other partners to develop real estate products that promote university goals.
ECU’s millennial campus includes four designated areas. Initially, ECU is focusing on its 22.3-acre warehouse district on 10th Street. Redevelopment of ECU’s warehouse district will include the renovation and adaptive reuse of the historic Haynie Warehouse and the construction of a new $90 million Life Sciences and Biotechnology Building.
