A full-service digital marketing agency formed in June 2013 is relocating to downtown Greenville and will open for business Aug. 7, economic development officials announced Tuesday .

Red Shark Digital, with an assist from the City of Greenville's Office of Economic Development’s Moneyball strategy, was able to secure a location at 324-B Evans St. that meets the needs of their business, parking requirements and size for growth, according to a news release from Uptown Greenville, the nonprofit revitalization agency.

Red Shark delivers custom user interface (UI)/user experience design web development, digital advertising, branding, social media management and media production to growing companies, an Uptown Greenville official said in the news release.

“We've been eyeing uptown for a while now; the growth and investments that have been made here are astounding and we're excited to align our expansion alongside it,” company founder and CEO Chris Rupp said. “The area and our new space is perfect to attract the high quality new hires we're looking for into an all-encompassing live, work, eat and play environment.”

The Office of Economic Development’s Moneyball strategy helps startup companies like Care Master, Uptown Brewing and now Red Shark grow flagship operations in Greenville with an eye toward further employment and more diversified center city development.

“Red Shark Digital epitomizes the city's Moneyball strategy to help promising companies add quality jobs that collectively grow in number,” Greenville Economic Development Manager Roger Johnson said. “We fully expect companies like Red Shark Digital to grow, add career opportunities and become flagships for the community.”

Red Shark expects to add six to eight new jobs over the next year, and each new position will be well above the average income per capita and offer full benefits, according to the release.

“One of our goals is to diversify the types of jobs and the folks that visit uptown,” Johnson said. “It’s is a student-driven population, and any time we can help businesses like Red Shark locate there and offer good professional jobs and more discretionary income to spend there, it helps revitalize the area.”

Red Shark Digital was founded in 2013 and has been located at 2710 E. 10th St. the past two years. The company has its majority of clients located throughout the eastern United States with more clients located in Canada and Europe.

Moving to the heart of Greenville, the company will continue striving to be a one-stop source for digital marketing by continuing to connect brands to customers through innovative solutions, the release said. For more information about Red Shark, visit
